Crowns When there is severe loss of tooth structure and the tooth is severely broken down, inserting a post and core before placing a dental crown may be required. We will shape the root canal to prepare a space for the post. The space that we prepare is used to anchor the post into the root of the tooth. After the post is placed, we fill the tooth with the core. The core is shaped so that is will anchor and retain your dental crown. |
